to read, originally uploaded by enderike.

This is just a portion of the stack of books that I have to read. Also included is the audio cds from Catalyst that I want to relisten to. The fact is, even though I really desire to read and learn so much, I get distracted too much and don’t get very far in denting my stack. The stack, actually, just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Well, tonight I’ve decided something that I have known was coming a long time ago. I’ve got a confession:

My name is Kyle Isenhower, and I’m a gameaholic.

I, like many guys I know, love to play video games. What I have known for a long time and finally admitted tonight is that I spend way too much time playing video games, and that the time I spend playing is wasted time. I’ve tried to tell myself many times that I can self limit myself and play only a little bit, but that short time always turns into long periods of time. It’s not that I don’t have self-control (that’s another post altogether). It’s that video games are addicting, and that once I start playing, I seem to lose track of time. So I’m pulling the plug. Especially since I am about to be a father, I think I need to prioritize the things I spend my time on. The Xbox has got to go.

This doesn’t mean that I won’t be getting another gaming system later on in life. I just think that during this season of my life I’ve got to go game free.
