Stuck in the Engine

This poor stray cat from my house crawled up in the engine a couple of weeks ago. I drove that Saturday morning to breakfast with Christina and then up to the church for work. On the way to church my check coolant light came on, so when I pulled in the parking lot I open my hood. I saw a black and white ball of fur sticking out a small compartment. I was pretty sure the poor thing was dead since it had to have been there for at least 3 hours, so I set to trying to pull it out. I couldn’t pull it up and out, so I looked underneath the car to see if I could pull it down. To my surprise the poor thing was still alive, eyes open and tears streaming down its face (ok, not really tears streaming, but pitiful). After taking off some compartments (and taking this picture) he came free and took off running at full speed across the parking lot. After lots of running and scratching I finally tracked it down and brought it safely back home and let it go. We’ve not seen it since. Hopefully its doing ok. Hopefully it stays away from cars. I decided to name him Engine.
