I just installed the new iPhone WordPress app. I really like how easy it was to set up. It has a nice interface and makes blogging from my iPhone a breeze. I hope that in future updates I can manage comments (since I get so many). If you use WordPress and an iPhone, you should download it quickly.. you can’t beat the price.

Wow.

I am so excited about the new apps showing up.  Here is a quick round-up of what I love so far:

• Remote:  Its free, and it works really well.  It reminds me of using Salling Clicker on my Windows Mobile phone back in the day.  It is a quick and easy way to browse your iTunes library and to control what is being played.  I am not sure, but I don’t think it supports proximity and I’m not sure if it will pause music on iTunes when a phone call is received.  I’ll update when I know a little more, but I love this simple little app.
• Super Monkey Ball: A pretty fun little game.  It takes a while to get the hang of controlling your monkey but once you do it means hours of addictive fun.
• Exposure:  I am running the free version of Exposure.  I think the only difference between Exposure (free) Exposure Premium ($9.99) is the inclusion of advertisements.  I’m fine with ads for now.  Exposure “puts Flickr in your pocket.”  It is a simple interface but can do pretty much everything that I want to do with Flickr except allow me to upload photos from my iPhone.  To do that you can still use the email to Flickr setting or use ShoZu, which works pretty well.  I spent a good time yesterday browsing “Explore” photos on Flickr and it was a great experience.
• Twitterific: I was excited about this one, and it doesn’t dissapoint.  It is in my dock replacing the Mail app, that’s how much it means to me.  Again I’m running the free version because I don’t really mind the ads right now.  The interface is much nicer than any previous installer.app applications.  I can’t wait for them to be allowed some sort of background processes so I can know when there are new tweets right away rather than having to launch the program for it to refresh.
• WeatherBug:  I love weather, plain and simple.  I am addicted to watching radar for storms and seeing current conditions.  I think it is a byproduct of growing up in Oklahoma, where there was pretty much always a little storm warning graphic in the corner of your tv screen.  This app is pretty nice, but it really is the only weather application I could find, so if something better comes along I might jump ship.  I don’t like that I can only add 3 cities.

That’s it on the apps I have for now.  I do have a few that I miss from my jailbroken iPhone that I would like to see in the app store soon:

• Last.fm mobile scrobbler.  I loved my iPhone updating automatically the tracks I was listening to to my Last.fm account.  Hope this one shows up soon.
• Netflix – simple I know, but it was a good way to keep track of and organize my netflix cue.
• Pool - a fun and addicting little game.
• VNC – nothing like being able to control my computer with my phone.
• WordPress blogging app.  Ok, so this wasn’t in installer.app either, but I really want to be able to blog from my phone easily.  I have searched the app store 3 times for “wordpress” already hoping it would show up.  Finally I thought I’d search on the wordpress.org forums and I found out that pretty soon a new iPhone wordpress app will be launching!  I’ll be downloading as fast as I can.

iDay

Today, my friends, is iDay.

And the answer to your questions is, yes, I will be waiting in line to buy an iPhone. I am not in line yet, but I am planning on showing up to the La Cantera Apple Store in a couple of hours. While there, I will have my laptop, my cell phone, my ipod, a book, and my XT. Here is a list of things I am going to do to pass the time:

1. Edit and update all my contacts and calendars on my Macbook Pro. I want them really neat, clean, and ready to go on the iPhone.
2. Post updates on twitter and here on isenhowers.com, as battery life permits.
3. Take some pics and upload them to my flickr of the line and other interesting things going on.
4. Keep reading “The Big Idea”
5. Read up on my Google Reader. I expect lots of people to be updating about iDay.
6. Posting to and updating at the Mac Rumors iPhone Purchasers meetup forum.
7. Call some members of my family to see how they are doing, including my sister Amanda, who’s birthday is today. That makes this not only iDay, but aDay also.

That’s it for now. I’m also looking forward to lunch from Charlie’s Philly Grill. I’m a sucker for food court Philly steak sandwiches and seasoned fries.
