Got your attention. I get a little addicted to checking my stats on Google analytics. It is a big deal to me if I have 17 people read one day vs 15 the day before. 2 more site visits, YES! Besides all sorts of features including map overlay of visitors, tracking content that is being viewed and how long, and showing the sites that have directed traffic to mine Google analytics has a really cool feature that gives you keywords that were typed into a search engine that resulted in someone visiting my blog. Here are some of my recent favorites:

cholosteatoma (I’ve had one of these)

gerald mcraney (huh?!)

all for love you gave it all for love with every drop of blood lyrics (obvious)

ammoral meaning (not sure)

sufjan stevens kaskaskia river (maybe from my last.fm)

capresso infinity (I love my new espresso machine)

pit shaving girl video (wow. first, why search for this. second, how’d they end up here?)

buckhead church sucks (funny how words get combined. for the record I’ve never typed these words in this order on this blog…until now)

I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of it before, but last night I was reading a post at avclub about how Ken found out that kenwilson.com was owned by one of those domain parking companies and that it would cost him $2500 to buy it! As far as I can tell there is no other Kyle Isenhower (with same spelling) in existence, so last night I snatched up the domain before it was too late. Right now it is just redirecting to isenhowers.com, so there is really no change, but I do like being able to tell people to go to kyleisenhower.com better than saying isenhowerS.com, which is a little confusing. So, all that said if you want to visit my blog you can now go to www.isenhowers.com OR www.kyleisenhower.com .

So, looking after posting about the church media blogroll a while back I realized something; all of the blogs on my cmb are of people that are pretty far away. Not really a problem when it comes to learning from what others are doing, but still, I felt like I needed to find some more church media blogs from people close to San Antonio or Austin. It has proven to be difficult. I’ve found a couple from the Dallas area, and even more from my old stomping grounds of OKC and Tulsa, but none in South Texas. I consider myself a pretty good googler (according to definitions 1-3) but I have been unable to find any blogs from San Antonio church media people. I find it hard to believe that they don’t exist, especially since according to SAworship.com there are 1313 churches listed their site. So the search is on for SA Church Media blogs. If you know of one (or are one) then be sure to let me know.

So I’ve added a new category to my blogroll. I really couldn’t come up with the perfect name for it, and just settled on Church Media Blogroll. Lately I have been cleaning out some blogs that I always “mark all as read” in Google Reader everytime there is something new. As a result of this purging, I also started to fill up a new category on GR, Church Media People. Clicking from person to person and on and on I found quite a few different blogs from people who are doing things similar to what I do. Everyone has different organizational structures, titles, and responsibilities; some are creative directors, service programming directors, creative pastors, video editors, and designers. The churches are all doing things differently when it comes to production and planning. In the end, though, they go through a lot of the same things I do, and I realize that I can learn a lot from hearing about their experiences. I also felt that since I read their blogs, I could at least give them a little props by linking to them, so my 7 subscribers could check them out and pad their gaudy followings.

That and Los asked me to.

I feel like I need to write. I keep intending to write on a myriad of topics… I actually have a long list of things to post right now, but I just don’t have the motivation to write right now. I need to be more disciplined in most areas of my life, and as that starts to develop, so will my discipline in blogging. So, I need to start playing less video games, watching less tv, reading more books, reading the Bible more, and spend more time being inspired. I’ll get to work on that after I finish playing a little Halo 2 and relaxing. Will I ever grow up?

I liked my old WordPress theme “Connections Reloaded”, but I wasn’t completely satisfied. While I was mulling over whether to change it or not, Scott Austin asked me to help him set up a blog that he, Misty Jones, and I would all contribute to called ChurchRemix. Guess which theme he wanted? That’s right, “Connections Reloaded”. So, it pushed me over the edge to go ahead and change my theme. My new theme is adapted from “Fall Season”. The original header was a pretty picture of fall leaves, but of course I changed it. The pic is one I took when I first moved here to San Antonio of a church downtown.

This obviously then is also my push for churchremix.com, where I will be one of three contributors. I think it will help me separate what I blog where. It’s going to be hard to not double post some things though. Is that a blogging faux pas? We shall see I guess.
