Recovery

So yesterday I had ear surgery. I had a skin cyst in my right ear that had grown since the last surgery a year and a half ago. Thankfully this surgery was not near as complicated or as long as the last one. My biggest prayer through the whole surgery was for the doctor to be able to remove the cyst by going through the ear canal instead of laying the whole ear open like he has in the past. He was able to do all the work through the canal except having to make a small 1″ incision. I already feel so much better after this surgery than the last one, but I definitely still have pain in my ear and feel very groggy from the anesthesia. Pain pill sure take away the pain, but also make my brain sooooo foggy. I am hoping to be up and at ‘em with no more than a weeks recovery, but we shall see. I need to be back to 100% soon since we have only 25 days to go until Parker is due to arrive. Christina and I are quite a pair right now. Neither one of us is very coordinated or balanced right now, and we sleep at odd hours. My mom came down for the surgery and has been a huge help. Thank you to everyone who has prayed for me. I know God heard your prayers.
During recovery I have to wear this ear cup for an entire week to keep my ear safe and to prevent infection. It makes me look ridiculous. To show I’m not above embarassing myself, here I am in my unshaven, drugged, ear-cupped glory.
